Fun time at Granny and Pop-Pop's-August 09

We have had the pleasure of keeping Dalton and Dawson for two Saturday nights in a row!!!! (I asked could I keep them both times!!!) This past Saturday night we told them we would take them wherever they wanted to go and eat and they chose (remember I don't eat fried chicken or much chicken at all!) CHICK-FILET!! Oh well, we went there and those guys were soooooo good!!! They ate their supper, played on the playstuff and when we told them it was time to go, Dalton said "Just one more time, Pop-Pop, OKAY?" And after one more time, they put their shoes on and left just like little men!! We came home and Pop-Pop had charged up his remote race car and remote control BIG truck!!! They wore the batteries out and then we went inside and watched SPIDERMAN!!! Then we went night night and they slept all night long!!! Sunday morning we got up and Kelly and Heath came and we all went to Napoli's. Today is Kelly and Heath's 8th anniversary-I told her I was so blessed to have them all and thanks for giving me the best grandchildren anyone could ever ask for!!! I LOVE MY FAMILY!!! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer....I'm ready for fall....not wishing time away but hoping for cool weather!!!

Hi what few blog spotters are left!!! I'm hanging in there with ya!!! My wild dog, Bandit, snapped at me Monday night....I didn't know he had gotten on the couch with me and I kicked him (He was dead asleep). Well, One tooth got me and my foot is swollen up as big as TEXAS!! I finally went to Tonya on Thursday and she gave me a tetanus shot and Levaquin (a high powered antibiotic). So I am having fun this weekend sitting around with my foot propped up. The same foot that I JUST got my toe well on from the nail being taken off!!! Just my luck. I am enjoying my new job in Jackson at DSS-food nutrition services-friendly bunch of folks over there. Annette's retirement party was today and a bunch of us took her out last night to Logan's in RR for supper-we had a blast!! I miss the little fellows-I haven't seen them but a few minutes for 3 weeks. They are a busy set of twins!! My hubby took off last Friday and he and Kelly got momma home from the nursing home....that's another whole story...not enough room to write about that up here!!! Nothing really 7-08-09

Hey, where is everybody????? Guess everyone is taking the summer off!!! I haven't taken any pictures since we were at the beach, but I have seen the Vann boys alot!!! They are really growing...Dalton FINALLY gave up his "PIE-PIE".....Whew, thought he was gonna start kindergarten with that thing!!! They are both finally potty trained (Dalton is kinda having a tuff time - sometimes) If you don't know, I am working at Northampton County Department of Social Services in the Food Stamp Division. I have been wanting to get back to the county since I left!!!! My mom is still in rehab at Guardian Care Nursing Home in Ahoskie. My brother is coming home this Saturday to meet with her and discuss what we will do when her insurance stops paying for GCNH. (She insists that she is going home ?!@#$%^&!!!!!) What the ____????? Please say a little prayer for mom and her situation. My hubby washed and WAXED my car yesterday and Saturday we had to take my diamond enhancer back to Kay's again for a stone to be replaced and he bought me another bigger enhancer!!!!! (I'm keeping the one they sent off to be repaired)...wonder what's on his mind? Have a great day!!!

Well, we did have a little bit of "heat" on Saturday!!! The boys really enjoyed their $5.00 slip 'n slide!! We got the pleasure of keeping them Friday night (they were so good!!), took them to the Grapevine on Saturday morning for breakfast (they almost ate the table!), Walmart in Ahoskie and then surprised my mom with a visit to the Nursing Home. We took her some ice cream and the boys ate most of it!!

Mom's 77th birthday

Happy birthday, Momma!!! Tonight, John, Kelly, Heath, Dalton, Dawson and I went to see Mom at Guardian Care Nursing Home. We only stayed about an hour because the boys were WILD!!! Then we went to Los Amigos for supper--"Happy Cinco de Mayo"!!!! 5th of May!!! LOL!!! I hope Mom has many more birthdays!!!!!

Sorry, no pix to share right now. Pictures, what are they??? I am so busy with work, taking care of mom in the nursing home, trying to see Kelly, Heath and the boys, and trying to spend some quality time with my husband and our friends....it is exhausting!!! But I see that not many of you are posting anymore either!! It seems that much more is happening on facebook lately than the blogspot. I am too busy right now to do much more than glance through all of my favorite sites!! Have a great week!!!

My Mom

Well, what I have been hoping would NOT happen, did on Sunday. My mom broke her foot and had to have surgery. She was trying to meet us at Los Amigos for Easter lunch and fell trying to get into her car. Someone from her church rode by and saw her lying on the cement under the carport waving for help and she went to the church and got some men to come and get mom up. Well, she got into the car and drove to Los Amigos. I noticed she wasn't getting out of the car and I went outside and she said "I think I broke my foot, but I want to go inside and eat with the boys!" Well John and two male friends could not get her in there, so they got her back into the car and she drove herself to the hospital! I followed her. Anyway, to shorten this book she has to go from the hospital today to Guardian Care for 3 months. The cancer doctor went to see her yesterday and told her she will never live by herself again. So...................I don't know what we will do. A few prayers if you ladies have time.......THANKS!!!

Easter Egg hunting 2009

Nanny Net and Granddaddy had an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday for their combined grandkids and some other friends. Here's all but Judson and the two babies. Aren't they cute??

The boys stayed home from school Friday...they didn't feel too good. I picked them up from Grandma about 2:00 p.m. They still had a good time...but I don't know why they did't smile for these pix!! Dalton has his Bugs beside him and Dawson has Bun-Bun with him. Aren't they something with their "Easter bunnies"!

Bunny visit

Yes, on Tuesday night, Dalton and Dawson came to visit their bunnies!! They are still kind of "wary" of the bunnies....hope with time they will hold them. They will rub them, but I can't get a picture of them holding them yet. Ganny thinks all four of the "boys" are cute!!

Thank God for sending Jesus to save our souls..."Up from the grave he arose to save sinners like me!" ...the real meaning of Easter. I am so blessed. I bet you all don't know how rich I am!! I want a lot of things, but I have everything I NEED. Happy, happy Easter!!

Bunnies for the boys

Yes, Granny and Pop-Pop bought two bunnies for the Vann boys on Saturday. We called Kelly and she and Heath brought the boys to see their new bunnies. (We will keep them at our house!) Dawson picked the larger, black and white bunny and named him "Bun-Bun" and Dalton picked the small brown and white one and named him "Bugs"!! I thought it would really be neat for Easter. Kelly had one when she was little that my dad bought her. (My dad loved him some Kelly.) His name was "Bugs". I really like these little bunnies....Granny is an old softie for any pet!! Something else to feed and take care of....oh, well...anything for those little fellows!!!!!

Glad all of you blogger girls had a blast on Friday!! I asked Kelly if I could keep the boys Friday night....just wanted to keep the little fellows!! Pop-Pop was off Friday, so he picked them up from school and I met them at Los Amigos at 12:00 -in the pouring rain, no less. Then we went to Piggly Wiggly where Dawson reminded me (from 2 weeks ago!!) that I needed batteries!!! How smart is that?? Anyway, we had a good time. Friday night, Aunt Tammy, Uncle Ray, Uncle Dave, C.J. and Lucas came to our shop and we watched Wake Forest get beat. Saturday morning, Kelly and Heath came to get the boys and I talked Pop-Pop into taking me to Rocky Mount to Red Lobster and Michael's. I love me some Michael's!!!! You will all think I am crazy, (which is sooooo true), but I really like to buy scrapbooking stuff more than I use it!!! LOL, LOL I have got EVERYTHING you can imagine....I've done some, but not as much as I should. I'm off today, Monday, and I am working on getting it organized. I was gonna try to get a lot done today, but last night we went to Tammy and Ray's and played cards...came home about 12:30 a.m. My mom called at 4:00 a.m. and had fallen, couldn't get up and we had to go to Ahoskie and get her up. We got back home at 5:30....so I am kind of pooped!!! That's how this old Granny's life goes!!

So sad...Kelly and the boys just left. I picked them up from "school" and we rode the mule to feed the ducks at Bonnie and Marty's pond. It is so beautiful.....wish this weather would stay, but the weatherman says otherwise!!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful week anyway!!!

Does it get any better than this?? I BEGGED Kelly to let us keep the boys on Saturday!! They were sooooooooo good...we went to Los Amigos in the rain and they were angels!! Just love, love, love em!!!!! (I'm kinda scary with no makeup!! LOL) My toe has given me a fit!!! I still can't wear shoes...flip flops sure are chilly when it's 32 degrees!!!

Outpatient surgery

Well, I finally did it!! I am minus my left big toenail!! It has been bothering me for going on two years. It had "the fungus" which helped it to be ingrown....just a mess!!! Anyway, yesterday at work, Michael Koenig-the P.A. at where I work (Northeastern Orthopedics-Dr. Larabee) said he would take it off for me around 11:00 a.m. so I would have the weekend to recover. To my surprise, Dr. Larabee was off yesterday but he came at 11:00 just to take my toenail off for me!! I certainly didn't expect that!! They wanted me to do it at the hospital, but I told them that I would have to pay my deductible and all that!! The three injections into my toe were not bad at all and I didn't even feel Dr. Larabee take the nail off.....BUT BOY WHEN IT WOKE UP, THAT IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY!!!!!! Anyway, I am sitting around this weekend with my toe propped up and every 5 or 6 hours popping those pain pills!!! Hope you all have a great weekend!! Congrats to all who are losing that weight!!! Shannon, sounds like you had a great day yesterday....EVERYDAY is wonderful for me!!!! Oh, by the way, today is John's mother's birthday party- she is 90 years young!! LOVE to all!!

2 Different cakes, of course

Dawson had Spiderman and Dalton had Cars...don't they look serious about that cake thing? We couldn't sing Happy Birthday to them...it scares Dalton and Dawson sides with his "Brubba". For some reason, Dalton has never liked loud noises...even when he was an infant, it scared him. So we all just said "Happy Birthday, boys!"

Dalton and his new 4-wheeler with Bailey Howell and Blake Birdsong...they would not get off of the things until they had been on them for 2 HOURS!! (They both jumped off to pee-pee in front of everybody!!LOL...well, they are FINALLY potty trained!!)

Can you believe it's been 3 years!

Look what happened three years ago today!!! My baby had TWO babies!! Aren't they all beautiful? I'm sorry, but I can't help it....I love them so much...Heath too!! That's Dalton Keith in Kelly's arms and Dawson Heath being held by Gandma Vann!! I am so proud of Kelly and Heath....they have done an amazing job with those boys! Happy birthday, Dalton and Dawson!!! Ganny and Pop-Pop love you more than you will ever know!!! Happy Valentine's Day too!!! You two are the best Valentine's present that I have ever gotten!!!

Sorry I haven't blogged lately. Last Friday was my birthday, I worked half a day, picked up the boys, ate lunch with Kelly, came home and played with the boys, John and my friends gave me a birthday party, we went inside about 11:30 p.m. Got up at 6:00 to go to Snowshoe...got there at 3:00 p.m., came home Monday afternoon. My internet hasn't worked since we came home until today!!! Miss you all!!!

This is where we stayed...Top of the World. The bar, Hoot's, was right on the ski slope...John would come out of our Non-smoking room in his bedroom shoes and go out here to smoke!! LOL

I'm still here

Hello, everyone!! My computer is in my living room and we don't heat that room unless I am in there. It has been so cold that I haven't been in there much!! Decided today to take a chance and venture in there today!! Mason's still cute, Judson's still cute, Bentlee and Ryley are still cute, Chloe Leigh is cute, Hang in there Kelly, Rhonda and Cathy on your weight loss ( I have lost a million pounds, but can't seem to keep it off!! LOL), Biggie's girl-how ya doin?, Just J.T.-how ya doin? I still love reading all of your blogs!! Last night, Kelly, Heath and the boys were upstairs and Kelly asked Heath "Will you go downstairs and get me something to D-R-I-N-K?" To which Dawson replied, "While you are down there, will you get me something to drink too?" Kelly said she and Heath were THROUGH!!!! LOL Those Vann boys are a TRIP!! John and I are going to Snowshoe next Saturday and coming back on Monday-Tammy and Ray pooped out on us this time, so I guess we will "honeymoon" a little ;) At least we will finally get to see some real snow, I hope!!! Everyone have a GREAT weekend!!!

Yeah, mom is making excuses for her little girl..LOL!!! Kelly had two weeks off at Christmas (with no internet at home-like the boys would let her blog if she had one!!), went back to work with registration going on (worked late every night and I picked up the boys, etc) and this week, she and Heath were home sick on Monday, she worked late tonight and I picked up the boys (and last night too) and Wednesday Kelly and Heath take Dalton to a dermatologist at King's Daughter's to look at the little wart on his finger (Dawson is going too). Anyway, she would LOVE to blog again one day....look for her coming soon to a blog near you!!! LOL...Haha!!

Boys go pee-pee

Yes, it is a little sad when my grandsons going "potty" is all it takes to excite me!!! LOL I picked them up from "school" yesterday because I hadn't seen them since Friday. We came to Ganny's house and were waiting for Pop-Pop to come home and go with us to the Main Street Diner and I asked them "Who has a wet pull-up?" They both said "not Me". Well, I was thinking, yeah right and I'm gonna fly a jet airplane!!! But, trying to boost confidence, I said, "Well, who has to pee-pee?" They both said "Me"!!! To my amazement, they both went into the bathroom, pulled down their pants (all by themselves), pulled down pull-ups and let her rip!!!! Both went pee-pee at the same time!!!! I WAS SO PROUD!!! And both pull-ups were bone dry...MIRACLES never cease!!! These little guys are just TOUGH to potty train...they know better and have even had discussions about it (Heath caught them sitting on Dalton's bed one night talking about if they were ready to do this thing or not!!! LOL) As you all know, I LOVE, LOVE THESE LITTLE GUYS!!! They are a TRIP!!!

Weight loss

Kelly and Rhonda and anybody else on the weight loss train...you look great to me!!! But if you are not satisfied with yourself, lose it now before you end up like me!!! Really, truly (this comes from my mom-she keeps sounding smarter and smarter! LOL) it is easier to lose the younger you are!! I believe it...take it from me...it is easier to lose a little than to end up like me and be obese! GOOD LUCK!!! Take one day at a time....drink lots and lots of water. I know how to lose it, but I can't keep it off!!
